Default Why do people doubt Andre the Giant's height so much?

So I came across a forum the other day which had many people arguing about Andre The Giants actual height.

Many people were suggesting Andre was 6ft11.

I even saw a youtube comment saying Andre was 6ft8

I found it absurd as much of this came from pictures of Andre in his late 30s. For example one where he stands next to Schwarzenegger and Wilt Chamberlain,

People never seemed to take into account factors such as Andre having difficulty to stand upright in his later years.

I think I'm fan-boying a bit but Andre must've been taller than 7 feet.

I believe Andre peaked at 7"4, 7"2 at the very least.

I'm not looking to argue here.

How tall do you believe Andre was and why do people feel the need to debunk the giant?

It's been proven that, Andre The Giant stood at 6'7" - 6'11. Big Show is taller then Andre The Giant.

Big John Studd only stood 6'10, Andre The Giant barely passed his height when they faced at Wrestlemania I. Hulk Hogan stands 6'7" Look at Andre The Giant in the shot below from Wrestlemania III.

For his time, Andre The Giant was a Giant. He had the look of a Giant, he's still The Giant of Professional Wrestling. But, that doesn't mean he was the biggest Giant.

In that picture Andre is a few months past his 40th Brithday, his spine is all kinds of ruined. Andre also has less of lift in the heel of his boot than hogan does. Hogan is 6ft7 in his boots. So Andre must be more than 6"7.
