Default Why Is Everyone Calling CM Punk A Quitter When Stone Cold Also Quite The WWE?

Stone Cold is one of the most respected wrestlers of all time. But in 2002 he quite in a similar way like Punk. He also had issues with the creative bookings and the direction his character was heading. He also refused to put over Brock Lesnar.

Austin didn't walk out in the middle of a contract. He retired.

Because Bashing CM Punk makes you Hipster and 'In The Know', The Internet wasn't really major when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin walked out in 2002;

It doesn't matter if a legend like SCSA quit or not. CM Punk still quit (or at least, walked out). "Why is everyone saying Jeff is a murderer when *famous person* murdered too?" Does't change anything. I personally don't care why CM Punk wanted to leave, it's his opinion/decision. The way he did it was real unprofessional though and could've been handled a lot better.

I 100% agree and I think that everybody should make reference to that before that make fun of him (exactly like I do). But also make sure to add the fact that he owned up to it being a bad decision and wanting to take it back

Austin left for a reason, they were putting him mid card and he had a reason to walk out, he is the greatest of all time, he deserves the number one spot right away an thats main eventing, period

I dunno. I'm not. I know the details of the 2002 Austin thing, the details about this Punk thing have yet to be revealed. All the people claiming to know are lying.

Austin didn't refuse to put over Lesnar. It was the fact there was no build up for it to happen. Think about it. STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN VS LESNAR had big money all over it, but it was just going to happen at a random raw with no build up. But the rest of what you said is 100% true.

But that's where the Punk/Austin walking out is different. Punk walked out cause he didn't feel like a Punk vs HHH match was worth it (I agree. We saw it in 2012 and it was one of Punks worst matches of 2012) but they were clearly building up for it and it sounds like HHH doesn't want to put anyone over so they would of had Punk lose to HHH which doesn't make any sense. You become a part timer and you won't put stars like PUNK or BRYAN over? Yep Punk said it. Once Vince is gone HHH and Stephine will run the WWE into the ground.

That was a totally different situation. Stone Cold was better and more famous than Punk could ever be.

To make things very clear on your description, Stone Cold did not refuse to put over Brock Lesnar. Stone Cold was willing to put over Brock Lesnar but under the conditions that the WWE would promote the feud leading it to be a paper view match. Austin was displeased that Creative Writing booked this match for a Raw "King of The Ring Qualifier" Episode and felt that this was not the appropriate move for business. Therefore, because of WWE Creative Writings laziness and lacking to do what's "Best for Business", Stone Cold walked out on the WWE.

As for CM Punk, Punk walked out on the WWE for exact same reasons. CM Punk was displeased with he direction Creative Writing had chosen for him along with some of his fellow peers and was frustrated with Part-Timers taking young talent spotlight at the biggest WWE paperview Wrestlemania. CM Punk was getting slowly frustrated over the last few years.

- Not main event Wrestlemania 28 due to The Rock vs John Cena

- Losing the WWE Championship after 434 consecutive days to The Rock

- Not main eventing Wrestlemania 29 due to The Rock vs John Cena II

- Having to Job to The Undertaker (This one is understandable though)

- Having to job to Brock Lesnar

- Losing his 2014 Royal Rumble win to Batista who has been absent for 4 years.

This was all being build up in the past couple of years. Punk was mad due to the fact that he lost his Wrestlemania main event spot numerous times to old superstars. CM Punk has always talked about his final goal in WWE is to have the final match at Wrestlemania, and it has been preventing on several occassions. He even was furious that WWE did not put Daniel Bryan into the Royal Rumble match.

Again, this all is similar to what happened with Stone Cold Steve Austin in 2002. WWE Creative Writing was going into the wrong direction, not choosing what was the appropriate move for the business along with its Young Superstars and therefore, caused a walkout. For those that say CM Punk is a quitter, he had enough of giving WWE a chance to do the right move and said enough is enough.
