Cena is a very good ticket seller but he's not that good of a wrestler, WWE likes him because he sells tickets but all he has is 5 or 6 moves that he's been doing for the last decade, he was good when he was a heel but it's been too much of a good guy character for a long time now. He needs to add more moves inside the ring or probably be a movie star and do good in Hollywood.

typical IWC.....everyone says they hate cena when he's here but now he's gone they think they have "a mind for the business" and want him back...derpppp

to answer your question - is the wwe more entertaining without cena? I'd say its about the same - after cena transitioned the belt tho daniel bryan and went for surgery, bryan/orton's been the main story, as well as the mcmahon's ego trip lol

now if we were to compare this to when literally half of last generation's wrestlers retired/stopped actively wrestling, then there's a huge change in the product - shawn, jbl, edge, jericho, taker, hhh, hardys, etc, etc

I'm not sure. I'd like to think that the product has simply gotten better, and will be better still, when Cena comes back. Yes, it's gotten better since Summer Slam, but it could simply be that the writing is better. I think what is really making it good, is that heel Triple H is back, and with him, the evil boss/corporation angle is back. People forget that it wasn't JUST McMahon vs Austin. Austin was McMahons #1 nemesis for sure, but Vince had feuds with many of the faces of that time. He had major problems with The Rock, HBK, HHH, Mic Foley, The Undertaker, Kane etc. The evil boss story went on for many years, and the product lost a LOT of it's charm after that ended.

Think of Cena's rise to prominence. The fans liked him while he was coming up. Most fans WANTED Cena to rise to the top of the mountain, but when he got their...something happened. The hero arrived and had his championship, but where was his opposition? Where was his struggle? It was absent. Cena just glided along as the untouchable baby face being adored by kids and women while all the adult male fans simply got bored of him, quickly.

People always say that Cena's a crappy wrestler, but objectively speaking, he isn't. He just came across as too perfect, too invincible, with no one and nothing to even remotely challenge him. ANY story that features a hero with no challenges, is a story that no one cares to see.

What made Austin vs McMahon so great was NOT Austins technical wrestling ability, and anyone who says it was, is a moron. What made Austin vs McMahon great, was that it was a constant, uphill battle that our favorite anti-hero was engaged in. Austin was the underdog who kept coming out on top. McMahon constantly put Austin through hell, and we were always waiting for those brief moments when Steve would get the best of the boss.

So WWE is better, because they're doing it right again. People may complain that, "it's the same old story," but it's the story that works. We all know that Triple H isn't the nicest guy in real life anyway, why not let him be that evil boss we love to hate, permanently? Each time a new star comes along, they'll have to take on the tyranny of Triple H, or whoever takes the throne next.
