Falling out of a handstand is not going to break your neck, but it will hurt.

Build up the muscles in your arms first. Take something that weighs about a kilogram like a bag of sugar. Hold it in front of you in one hand. Now bend your elbow to bring it up to your shoulder. Do that ten times, then do it with the other hand. Do that twice a day. When you can do it without your arms aching afterwards, you're ready for handstands.

It won't cause any major injuries though it might be uncomfortable!

The first thing you need is upper body strength! Push ups are a great way to get more upper body strength. Just be sure you're doing them properly.

Starting, it's best to try a handstand up to a wall. If you push your heels too much forward, you'll only land on the wall. If your arms give in, you're not physically ready doing the skill.

The chances of your hands slipping are low, really low. The only situation I can imagine it happening in is if you tried doing a handstand with gloves on, on a slippery surface ... One thing I often do when practicing handstands in my bathroom, on tiles, I dab my palm with a bit of water, that way I'm securing my grip on the floor.

So; strengthen your body, keep your arms straight and only do handstands where you are completely comfortable doing them, like against a wall for beginning!

Good luck!
