Yes it actually is if you can get a hold it gives you leverage for punches I mean holds don't win a real fight but it can lead to a few good knockout blows

"Back when I was in school, we had the boxers and wrestlers, now of course the boxers thought that they could defeat anyone, they actually had a 'leader' who was trained in Kickboxing, Thai Boxing and TKD, so yes, he was the most effective striker in our schooll. Well the wrestlers where tearing through the boxers ranks simply because, one a wrestler got a boxer down, they where defensless like a new born, they didn't know how to defend from chokes or locks, so most fights where over in seconds. Hell, even me and the boys started betting on the wrestlers. Well finally it came down to it, the best striker in the school was challanged by my friend Tiger who was a new guy wrestler, only been doing it for a year, however he was fast and incredibly strong. Me and him went to blows one time, I never lost a fight till I fought your unlce Tiger, he got on my back so d*mn quick I thought it was another guy jumping me. Tiger and this striker went to fight, it was over in less than 30 seconds, choked the best striker in our school out."

A talk me and my dad had.

Pro wrestling is deffinatly helpful if You can grapple, WWE wrestling should not be done anywhere at any time it's dangerous.

To some extent, it is useful but if you want a pro-fight, you also have to be as athletic as the real wrestlers are.
