Isn't bleeding one of the backbones of professional wrestling? I don't care if you like it or not, it just should be there.
When I look back at some of the pioneers of wrestling, one of the art forms was bleeding. Its just simple as that. |

I agree and disagree. I think blood adds an element to a mathc which makes it better. But there are some matches that can be jsut as good without blood. So if you are having a normal match, it can be great without blood. (Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels WM12 Iron Man Match). Great match no blood. Now gimmick matches like (ex. Hard-Core, Ladder, Falls Count Anywhere), those can have blood to make them look better.

Blood is not the backbone of Professional Wrestling. Creating Storylines that yield compelling and entertaining matches between 2 or more great competitors is great wrestling. Wrestlers bleeding can enhance what is already a great match, but blood will not make a lousy or mediocre match into a good one. In case you did not realize it, WWE is a Family-Oriented Entertainment Company and draws thousands of Families every week to WWE Live Events. Blood is not banned in The WWE, you just don't see it as often as maybe you would like. If a match sucks, I'm not going to care how much the competitors bleed.

It wasn't 'banned' its a matter of the practice becoming Over exposed during the attitude era and WWE dialling it down due to TV Censorship....
Granted WWE went overboard in CYA and cut it back to almost nothing, but as they have gotten a feel for the 'limits' of TV PG we are seeing the practice return -- one of the few standardized limits on TV ratings is 'an appropriate result" so if you punch a guy in the face a bloody nose is to be expected, a "Cerimson mask" is Not and those 'Pioneers' who carved road maps into their forehead Didn't do it every night for the same crowd... even if Raw is in a new city every week you can expect that a lot last week's and Next week's Arena crowds were watching on TV when a "pioneer' bled for a crowd, odds are that crowd wouldn't see live wrestling for a month or more, and any TV exposure a company had odds are It didn't show that 'art form' |
