The attitude era is never coming back for the simple reason that it doesn't fit with the times, back in the 90's wrestling was all about being a bad@ss but that doesn't cut it anymore. It's the 21st century and like all things, the wrestling business has evolved.

An example of this is how TNA has a TV-14 rating and yet their ratings are abysmal, while WWE on the other hand has a PG rating and yet it has beaten TNA since it's inception.

It would be nice but the era is over.It wouldn't fit in with wrestling nowadays.Plus WWE isn't competing with any other wrestling company for ratings.

No, the attitude era shouldn't come back people need to move on, wwe doesnt have competition anymore like WCW that was in the past, most of those wrestlers have gone an are not coming back, maybe just a few appearances. Move forward people

Sure WWE could if they wanted to but it shouldn't be done because this generation is different then 10 years ago people want more of a revolutionary kind of era that will bring people to their knees and keep the viewers mind boggled. I'm content with todays product sure it's not tv-14 and not the best but you gotta work with it WWE will go through a change it always has and will again soon.

Like you said, an era cannot be brought back. Keep in mind that the Attitude era had more to do with the writers than the wrestlers. So, if WWE brought back the Attitude Era with the writers they have now, it would tarnished beyond repair. However, if WWE brought good writers in for the PG era, then it would make for better television. Conversely, if the current writers from the PG era wrote the storylines for the Attitude Era (God forbid it never happened), then it would be just as bad as it is right now. When it comes down to it, it's really how the story is told.

This is a bit out of context but people like ECW because it was original (hardcore wrestling aside). What WWE needs to is be original.

Okay, I rarely answer these questions, but you seem to already know the answer.

For your consideration: promotions like Hardcore Uprising and CZW and XPW constantly exist on the cusp of existence, be it financially (In XPW's case, they were blinked out), or in the more morbid case, mortality (guys like Balls Mahoney, Sabu, and New Jack can't do the stuff they did in the 90's and live much longer...and I DO mean inside and outside of the ring.) Why aren't these promotions more well known? They all bank off of the legacy of ECW in one way or the other, yet nobody seems to care about a convention center filled with former ECW wrestlers anymore, or a hanger packed full of new talents and thumbtacks and garbage that they'll use to hit one another with. They constantly remain on the periphery, even when they evoke stalwarts of ECW or even ECW high spots.

Why do you think that is?

I'll tell you why; because they're outside of an era when these ideas were fresh or innovative. And even if they were around in the 90's, odds are people would still see them as the soulless cash in's that they are.

My point is that you can't recreate history, and you cant counterfeit an era.

What wrestling fans really mean when they say "I want the attitude era back!" is "I want something new that I can latch on to, experience, and enjoy." That's why the Kevin Nash's and the Hulk Hogan's and the Rock's, and the Mick Foley's, and even the Triple H's and Undertaker are, more and more as days go by, less welcome when they come back and pull out the greatest hits collection of the 90's. Remember John Cena, This Is Your Life? It was unbearable. Why? Because we've seen it before.

All they have to do is go back to TV-14 and hire a new creative team
