Interviews with top NWA Wrestlers from that era such as Former NWA World Heavyweight Champions Harley Race and The Nature Boy Ric Flair state that David Von Erich wsa being prepared and was considered as someone who would have been a Great NWA World Heavyweight Champion. I know he had some great matches against NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair.

The plans was to have David Von Erich beat Ric Flair for the NWA World title and he would of been champion longer than Kerry.

Finally, an intelligent question and one that's not about WWfuckinE.

The NWA Championship Committee voted in favour for David to win the NWA Championship from Ric Flair in March or April of 1984. It is likely that he would have had a long reign, as the NWA Champion, at that time, often carried the title for in-excess of 200 days, if not for more than a year or two.

I'm pretty sure David was booked to win the NWA title. In fact, the only reason Kerry won it is because David died.

Sad, but true.
