Default What is your favourite way to build up a wrestler to the main event?

My own is starting in a tag team then holding a secondary title then moving them to feud for the main belt, so a few years of progression.

It's a classic in my opinion that hasn't been feasible due to the lacklustre tag division.

I understand for some it's ridiculous such as Brock Lesnar (I'm not including his tag team with Shelton Benjamin in OVW) and Kane though Kane has since shown himself as a tag wrestler more than a singles guy.

It was the road for guys like Steve Austin and even Dolph Ziggler in the modern era, I do not include The Rock though as Nation of Domination was not a tag team and Rock 'n' Sock came after he was champ.

What's your thoughts?

Step 1. Vince likes huge guys (like Ryback)

Step 2. You need a catchphrase that people in the audience will copy (FEED ME MORE!)

I think that all rookies should be put in tag teams at the start of their careers then the more popular of the two should get the push and the other guy should work himself harder to earn his push too.
