I hope it doesn't...

I want them to launch there network already. No doubt Raw and Smackdown will be shown. I have been watching WWE since the late 90's.. who wouldn't want to see Attitude Era PPvs for free on there network? Classic WWE Matches? If the WWE airs the good stuff it will not flop.

It depends on how much money the McMahons put into it and what their expectations are. Satellite TV has hundreds and hundreds of channels, a large portion of which are "specialty" channels just airing one particular type of show (like weather or cooking). Obviously a WWE Network will revolve around WWE programming. That could work very well if Vince is willing to include other wrestling promotions, for example rerunning WCCW TV shows from the 80's, showing an "historical" PPV of the month, things like that. Not to overshadow the current WWE but to show fans some history of the wrestling business and those of us who saw it the first time a chance to relive some history.

A WWE Network could accommodate a wide variety of WWE-themed programming, such as "reality" shows, talk shows, "a day in the life of" shows, maybe cartoons, a "Tough Enough" type show, etc. It could show movies (those produced by the WWE and some that are not). It could even "host" current TV shows from other wrestling companies (in the U.S. and other countries) with the WWE Network taking a cut of the profits in exchange for being on a national network.

Another possible deal-breaker is cost. Is the WWE Network free, or subscription (like HBO)? Most people would be willing to part with a few dollars each month if the variety is there, but not $10 or $15 each month for basically what we're already getting with WWE shows on other networks.

If Vince is willing to be a "network executive" and air programming that viewers want to see, as opposed to his current "shove the WWE and only the WWE down the viewers' throats", the WWE Network could be a success. A strictly 24/7 WWE-only channel is far too niche to be an overwhelming profitable success; people can just go to wwe.com for "all WWE 24/7". It will need a wider variety of programming. By far, the WWE's biggest audience is Monday Night RAW which gets about 5 million viewers a week. The other WWE shows don't come anywhere close to that.

The WWE Network has bigger and better potential for success than anything Vince has tried before. He just needs a lot of variety in his programming to attract a wide variety of viewers.

It will flop simply because cable is a dying industry. Jim Ross is a family friend and he informed me WWE would be making a streaming service like netflix or hulu instead of the network. It will be announced in 2013
