He really isn't giving them much to work with if he wants the WWE to play things safe and not go to edgy!

Thanks WS!!!

No, Vince McMahon needs to stop with the PG family friendly formula he has developed for Raw and WWE and just go back to having that bad ass attitude, the creative team can't do anything creative because it is just going to have to be safe and friendly, you got to take chances in life and WWE just doesn't want to do that right now!

no vince needs to blame himself for buying out all the other wrestling territories and promotions. the wrestling companies competing against each other was good for wrestling and the fans.

While i agree getting more edgy would help rateings lets remember back in the 80s it was all PG rateings weren't bad then.I do believe that Vince has a major role in the low rateings. He has final say of everything.

Yet a good writeing team would be able to come up with some better ideas then what is currently being played out

Because the WWE performers are basically actors reciting pre-written dialogue and acting in pre-written scenarios, yes, the "creative" team are responsible for what we see on TV. This stuff is not ad-libbed and/or made up free-form as they go. The WWE is VERY regimented with storylines and angles generated by "creative" weeks, sometimes months, in advance. SOME actors can make reading a phone book entertaining but the vast majority can't. The vast majority of actors are only as good as the material they're given to perform. Give Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro, and Clint Eastwood a shlocky "Z"-level script and you're going to get a "Z"-level movie from them.

So long as Vince has "creative" writing every damn thing (and not letting his performers ad-lib on the fly when a bit isn't working) then they are the ones responsible for what we see on TV.

The WWE's rise to global promotion/brand and to the largest and most dominant promotion in the world came via the very "family-friendly" Hulkamania. The TV rating is not the problem. The problem is a "creative" staff who are anything but creative, who have gotten complacent and lazy and just recycle the same characters and storylines over and over and over. Each generation of WWE performer has gotten more and more reliant on being told what to do, how to do it, how long to do it, by "creative" to the point they don't know what to do if something isn't working, so they just keep following the "script" no matter how badly they are bombing. "Creative" writes the "scripts" the performers have to follow so yes, they are responsible and should be held accountable.
