Default Has Anybody Else Noticed This Trend With Black Wrestlers Lately?

Okay, so in ROH, Jim Cornette told Jay Lethal that he had to be a bit more aggressive in the ring if he wanted a shot at Steen. Now he's hitting heavy and being a "toughy"

In TNA, Devon gets fired after months of being a mentor and off-and-on successful Television Champion with little aggression to his game. Now he's part of Aces & 8's.

Now, the WWE's trying to turn fun loving Kofi Kingston into this hard-hitting, hard-kicking, no-nonsense singles competitor.

Is it just me, or do these three things correlate entirely too well?

I've also noticed that all three companies suddenly realized that they have tag titles now and want to build a division. How odd.

So, what's the verdict? Is this just a case of oddly random but similar trends? Or do you think someone's copying someone else?

BQ: Any other oddly duplicated trends that you've noticed?

I think that's just a coincidental trend. I mean, if it were really a noticeable pattern, it would've happened with several black wrestlers but as stated in your details, it was only the case for three. And when you think about it, Devon has always been a hard-hitting, aggressive competitor. He originated in ECW, known as the home of hardcore. I think he has always integrated his roots with the technique he uses now. And he hasn't just joined the Aces and Eights; he's been with them the entire time, disguising himself with a fake, happy-go-lucky alignment. He hinted at it when the leader foreshadowed their entire plan: "you locked us out.. but you might've locked us in", basically saying that they had personal connections with someone inside the company (Devon and Wes Brisco).

Also, Kofi Kingston still seems pretty friendly and warm spirited. He gets serious at times but overall he still acts like a burning babyface. I like your observation but it all seems like a coincidental.
