TNA (Hogan and Bischoff) spent more than a year building the Sting vs Hogan angle that was to pay off at Bound For Glory as we saw it. Sting won the match but convinced the real Hulk Hogan to come back and help Sting from the beat-down he got from Immortal, turning face in the process and saving the day (like Hulk Hogan used to do back in the day; saving the day and vanquishing the bad guys used to get Hogan tremendous pops and cheers in the 80's). It was very well done and most fans liked it.

The only thing that could have topped Hogan's face-turn and helping Sting run Immortal off was Bobby Roode winning the World Title. Ain't no way in hell Hogan was about to allow ANYBODY to steal his thunder on that show.

It doesn't really matter whether or not Roode really is ready yet (though most fans, including me, believe he IS); this is all about Hogan's ego and having to have the big moment at the biggest PPV of the year. They DID spend over a year building this showdown with Sting. The FANS would have been ecstatic seeing the Hogan face-turn AND Roode win the World Title. Hogan, though, doesn't share the spotlight with anybody. Even if that means trivializing a huge months-long tournament to determine a number one contender and then have that contender lose the title match.

Most people remember World Title switches more than anything else (at PPVs). Sometimes, though, major heel/face turns are more memorable and important. If the Title match had gone on before the Hogan/Sting match, Roode probably would have won, and Hogan would have gotten the chance to top Roode's Title win with his face-turn and helping Sting. But the Hogan/Sting match went on first, leaving ROODE the only person who could've topped Hogan's face-turn. No way in hell was Hogan going to allow that.

Hulk Hogan needs to retire from running TNA and wrestling altogether. He's annoying and doesn't know real talent, he'll drive TNA into the mud more the Vince Russo has done.
