Many times, you may have better Wrestlers among the Lower Card and Mid-Card Wrestlers. Everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up, that is how Professional Wrestling Works. Professional Wrestling Promotions are also in business to make money, therefore The Wrestlers in the Main Events are usually the ones that draw fans to the arena. Avid Wrestling Fans may have more knowledge and a greater appreciation of the technical skills and athletic ability of the Lowercard and Midcard Wrestlers.

Mic skills, charisma and a good character can take you a looong way.

Look at Cena and Wade Barrett. Wade is obviously not the best in ring, but his gimmick and charisma took him there. He doesn't have good booking right now, because he's quite new. But loyalty in the company might just give you luck in the right time. Cena is one of the fortunate ones who became the face because somebody named Brock Lesnar left. It's all about filling up the spots. Sometimes, it may not be your time.

They say, backstage politics/personal attitude plays a role too.
