Default Why Did The Rock Have A Falling Out With Vince McMahon?

I have heard little things over the years about Rock and Vince having a falling out over something, or another, and I was curious about the details of it. Does anyone know anything? I couldn't find any articles on the internet, or anything. Thanks.

I don't think so.

@james, we agree to disagree, brother. It's true that rocky didn't wanted to be called as the rock. But why is all this negativity? Why don't you think like this- he wanted to be known as dwayne johnson the actor, not the wrestler the rock who can act. He just wanted to make a name of his own at hollywood. What's the big deal? Rocky was special. Unlike most of other wannabe actor wwe superstars he actually can act. John cena, hogan, triple h, jericho etc. The list goes on and on. Many have tried to be in hollywood, but tell me how many have been as successful as rocky?

Wasn't the name. For a while Rock couldn't use The Rock because of copyright. WWE owned the name and didn't give joint ownership until later on. Also, Dwayne wanted to establish his name in acting and let The Rock be synonymous with wrestling. Sad thing is, people took it the wrong way and got all mad about it.

I believe it had to do with the contract. Rock and Vince were not on good terms for mid 2005 all of 2006. Rocks contract ended in 2005, and I believe he wanted to renew w/ a legends deal. He thought that he had reached an agreement and that once the deal was set, he and Vince would get together and finalize it. He received notice while he was filming that, that wasn't going to be the case and so everything just ended. They since patched things up and Rock gave some light appearances here and there from 2007-2009 before his full on return this year. (Rock was actually supposed to return last year)
