from PW.com:

TNAWrestlingNews.com has even further news on Christian. It looks as if they are going to go with the following. His in-ring name will be Christian Cage while they will use the slogan "Captain Charisma" to sell merchandise. Here are the trademarks that were filed:

from TNA's official site:

On Tuesday morning, TNA management informed TNAwrestling.com that the company has come to terms with a "major acquisition" who will appear this Sunday during the live "Genesis" Pay-Per-View.

When reached for comment, TNA President Dixie Carter offered the following:

"This is the single biggest jump in TNA history," Carter said. "The contract is signed, the travel is set and in my opinion, 'Genesis' just got a whole lot more intriguing."

TNA will have further information on the "major acquisition" this Sunday on the live countdown preshow a half hour before "Genesis

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Christian Cage isn't a bad ring name, personally I think he's managed to undermine the WWE. Afterall, he's still using the name Christian as a ring name. Kudos to him, at least he wasn't screwed into changing his name to something like "Brother Ray". I give him even more props for being able to keep the Captain Charisma personna. The WWE dropped the ball by not trademarking the name, and he's managed to benefit from it. Now I'm only assuming that he is the major acquisition to debut Sunday at Genesis so I'll certainly be reading the PPV spoilers that night.

You know what would be funny? If WWE actually had copyrights to his name, so he went by ChrisChun

I hope he's not joining Jarrett's stable. Bring up his past w/ Jeff Hardy

That would be hilarious

Actually one of the reasons I'm amazed by the fact that he's using the name "Christian Cage" is because the name Christian actually is copyrighted by the WWE. Appearently adding a last name was the only thing he had to do to prevent any copyright infringement.

I read that he had developed the name/persona/gimmick prior to signing with WWE. He had already established Christian Cage, so I guess that's his name.

Mac, Christian is a great gain for TNA: He's got inring ability, mic skills, and can get over w/ the fans. At least he's not Jeff Jarret Jr. "Just because my dad and I started TNA, I deserve to have the title every odd month..."

I'm surprised he can use the name Christian at all.

Gerweck:

On Jericho's website, he currently has his display page showing the TNA Logo touting Sunday's PPV Genesis, however I did some quick snooping around and came upon this picture which isn't anywhere on the site, which promenantly displays Jericho in the advertisment.

Could be as legit as the last TNA/Jericho logo on his site, but.........
