Default Why do people think TNA is doing poorly?

They still pull in over a million viewers a week. Given the overall current state of pro wrestling in North America....I'd say that's still pretty impressive.

I know a lot of people had expectations of them becoming a mega-promotion like WWE, but the reality is that WWE has become a huge part of modern pop-culture. It can't be topped. But just because they don't draw what WWE draws doesn't mean they are failing.

NOTE: Please try and not rant on about your opinion on the TNA product, be it good or bad.

A 1.0 rating isn't really doing that bad though. Again, given the overall popularity of pro wrestling in North America, which is pretty fucking bad right now, I'd say 1.0, to a 1.3 is a decent rating.

@Siegfried - You mean you're, not your. No need to thank me, I like helping out the retarded. Makes me feel good.

And yes, the buy rates are quite awful, but that's not just with TNA. PPV's everywhere are becoming far less important. They have to much competition, and the economy isn't doing so well these days, and people have better things to spend their money on than a wrestling PPV, especially when they can just watch that same PPV for free on the internet, it makes sense that the buy rates would be bad.

because the rating are not good 1.0 or 1.3 and the buyrate is not good either 4,000-7,000 while wwe have 14,000 or 24,000, i know it not bad but if a company want their product to sell they have to make people want to watch it if fans see the same thing over and over again they will not buy from them again same with wwe it was going downhall until they pick up on the cm punk storyline

Just because they have million viewers a week that doesn't mean those viewers are pouring money into the company. However, TNA is still doing well financially and they are extremely popular in Europe. They should focus on European fans because that's where profit is awaiting them.

@ The Rock- Did you ever consider to think that maybe the reason the WWE has its ratings and buy rates is more out of established reputation then a better product? WWE has been established in the mainstream for 20 years. If you consider that from 98- 2005 Raw's ratings were about around a 5.0 compared to todays 3.5.. you can see that casual fans are starting to get tired of the Sports entertainment industry as a whole. And considering that the year prior TNA was doing a .80 and now they are doing a 1.0.. their ratings have gone up.. slightly.. the business just needs a change of direction all around.

WWE fans think TNA is doing poorly, mostly from wishful thinking. TNA fans know otherwise. WWE fans have been trained by Vince to think like he does: bigger automatically means better.

To get the bigger ratings Vince killed the wrestling business to force people to watch his shows or nothing. WCW came along with a...different product full of shoots, swearing, blood, weapons, and supposedly more mature storylines and characters. The WWE got killed in the ratings. So Vince ECW-ed up the WWE (as Bischoff did in WCW) to survive. The Monday Night War ensued with phenomenal ratings on both sides. When the War ended the ratings dropped back down to normal.

TNA's ratings have climbed (slowly, yeah, but climbing nonetheless) while the WWE struggles to just maintain what they've had for many years. TNA is still a large but manageable company that's not out to change the world, with lots of room for growth. The WWE is an old monolith staggering under the weight of it's own bloat. The WWE is so large and bloated it CAN'T grow any more.

But the real telltale sign is the price of WWE stock. I keep pointing this out to the WWE fans who are predicting death any day now for TNA but they ignore me. The price of WWE stock is less than half what it was a year ago. Stock price determines the value of a company. This means the WWE is worth less than half what it was a year ago; any financial website will tell you that. The WWE is in serious trouble and Vince is desperate, trying to turn that around. He's taken TV shows off the air, he's signing big-money stars from the past to help out, he's trying to increase the value of his flagship championship by calling it undisputed (a meaningless buzzword designed to create hype and interest), he's cranking out new merchandise at a faster rate, he's trying shoot promos (again) to drum up business...anything to get some attention from the fans who are tired of the routine and are looking elsewhere for their entertainment. The WWE is struggling to maintain their fan base while TNA slowly increases their own.

The WWE is struggling to keep pulling in 10-11 million viewers a week (for RAW anyway). TNA pulls in about 1 million or so for Impact. No other promotion in North America has anywhere near TNA's fan base.

TNA is doing fine, considering the economy and the less amount of disposable cash most people have these days. The huge and bloated WWE is the company in real trouble. The stock price is screaming that loudly.

People are not watching TNA and are not buying their PPVs is why TNA is doing poorly. Crap storylines and creative writers, dinosaurs like Hogan Bischoff and Flair, meaningless fueds, and talentless wrestlers and WWE rejects are what murder TNA.

A million veiwers a week? What a joke.

TNA is already a mega promotion, see their youtube channel to know, and wwe is a joke or shud i say wwe squarepants.TNA gets higher ratings than ufc or mma which is what you shud be comparing TNA to as TNA is for mature audience while wwe is for kids and nobody knows their buyrates as they are a private company, you can speculate about their buyrates but you never know what they are and they dont get over a million viewers, there are occasions when they have got 3 million and 2.5 million for episode after BFG,mostly they get 1.7 million a week in the US but nowadays with youtube and dvrs, ratings dont matter that much, viewing habits have changed in US.
