If TNA is so good, why did last week's impact only get a rating of 1.07?

TNA is horrible, I know Wrestling is scripted but they make it look so fake.

Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair they ruined TNA...

And what's up with the short title matches? Sting beat Jeff Hardy in like 10 seconds.

It just fails...

TNA lost my interest when the company went to a classic 4-sided square wrestling ring and had the knockouts division begin to be boring and suck... Only thing that WWE is missing out on from TNA is having Eric Bischoff and some of the TNA wrestlers and knockouts. . . TNA or Impact Wrestling... w/e it's called now is nothing... Will never top WWE.

I only watch TNA to see Angle, AJ Styles, Crimson, Mr Anderson

could care less about everyone else...

I hate the fact they went to 4 side ring...I liked the octagon thing :P also I started hating TNA when Main Event Mafia broke up....they reminded me of NWO I watched TNA every week because of that stable :P

Typical person of the IWC..

Impact Wrestling on Thursday, August 11 scored a 1.07 rating, down from a 1.14 rating on Aug. 4. The show also continued a downward trend from a 1.20 rating on July 28 and 1.26 rating on July 21.

Impact averaged 1.54 million viewers, which was up five percent compared to an average of 1.44 million viewers last week when Impact was up against the season premiere of Jersey Shore, which averaged nearly nine million viewers. Impact was down compared to the episode two weeks ago, which averaged 1.61 million viewers.

Impact's demographic ratings were also up compared to last week, but, similar to the average viewing audience, were down compared to two weeks ago.

On cable TV Thursday night, Impact ranked #24 overall, #19 among males 18-34, and #11 among males 18-49, which is one of the few times this year Impact has not ranked in the Top 10.

The steady decline in ratings the past three weeks could have some correlation to a steady increase in cable TV competition on Thursday nights, showing TNA's audience is not completely invested week-to-week if there are other options on Thursday nights.

This week's competition: Jersey Shore Week 2 averaged 7.3 million viewers, a Republican debate on Fox News averaged 5.0 million viewers, and pre-season NFL Football on ESPN averaged 4.9 million viewers.

Specific to the males 18-49 demographic, Impact was also topped in the ratings by TruTV's World's Dumbest, and basic cable repeats of adult-oriented cartoon comedies like Family Guy and American Dad.

-- The following is a break down of the last five weeks of Impact, with comparisons to the 2011 averages.

July 14: 1.19 rating

July 21: 1.26 rating

July 28: 1.20 rating

Aug. 4: 1.14 rating

Aug. 11: 1.07 rating (down 15% vs. July 21)

Five-Week AVG: 1.17 rating

Ten-Week AVG: 1.10 rating

2011 AVG: 1.19 rating

Not that I'm a fan, but good and popular aren't synonyms. Dream Theater is good, but pretty unacknowledged. Katy Perry is popular, but complete sht.

You really cant go by ratings to see how good someone is doing. Not every house in the US is on the Nielson Ratings. Im having a hard time believing that only 1 million people in the entire US is watching TNA, same goes for the WWE. This is not realistic.

Ratings do not indicate whether a show was good or not. All the ratings tell you is how many people watched it. A horrible show that everybody watches is still a horrible show, while a great show that nobody watches is still a great show.

Speaking of a sinking ship that might be going out of business soon if they can't turn things around, are you aware that the price of WWE stock is less than half of what it was a year ago? LESS THAN HALF! The price of a company's stock determines the value of the company. That means the WWE is worth less than half of what it was worth a year ago. I would think WWE fans would be much more worried about the WWE's plummeting worth than about a TV rating TNA got one week. Go to any financial website and check up on the WWE. There are serious problems in that company. If Punk is so good and everybody is watching him, why is the WWE's stock price still sinking?

TV ratings are from Nielsen and they only monitor a tiny fraction of the households that have TVs and then guess that because those particular TVs were tuned into a particular program then everybody else did the same. Hardly realistic.
