Was JBL better at the commentary desk, or in the squared circle?

I think he was much better at the commentary desk. Unfortunately, I didn't watch wrestling when he was in his prime and feuding with the likes of John Cena, but I did watch him towards the end of his career and I gotta say he didn't impress me too much in the ring. I remember him having matches with Chris Jericho and it was just really sloppy all around. If you can't put on solid matches with Jericho, that's sayin' something!

With that being said, I thought he was tremendous as a commentator! He would always cheer for the heels and justify everything that they did. He wasn't annoying like Cole can be, he actually knew what he was talking about and just made the perfect commentator.

So for me, I thought he was much better behind the desk.

He was good in the ring, but hilarious at commentary. There were times he's say something and I'd just crack up laughing, especially when Sylvan was on.

I think the closest he came to being gold in the ring was when he was in the APA, the predecessor to TNA's Beer Money, but again, there was quite a bit of humor involved there too, the gimmick played to his strengths. I still smile when I think of people entering that fake doorway to talk to Farooq and Bradshaw.

Though JBL was a great commentator in my opinion, he was even better in the ring, because he could entertain with his unbelievable skill on the mic, and ability to Create heel heat. He also was a great technical wrestler, that could consistently put on solid, yet not legendary matches. His feud with Cena going into Wrestlemania 21 was Truly incredible. He is the one who originally put Cena over as one of the top dogs in this Business (regardless of myself or anyone Else's personal opinion). JBL, in my opinion, was one of the top Heels in WWE history.
