Hogan vs Andre the Giant it's the match that made WWE popular back in the 80s and really kicked off Hulkamania.

There are a few...

1) Wrestle mania 3 Hogan vs Andre the Giant

2) Austin King of the Ring interview where he coined Austin 3:16

3) WCW starting a Monday night show head to head with WWF

4) Vince buying WCW

There are many monumental moments but these are the ones i think influenced wrestling the most in modern wrestling.

When Vince appeared on RAW, out of character, just before RAW started, and told us that Chris Benoit was dead. Vince talked about characters and storylines, and about the WWE being entertainment. That itself was very weird. But the main thing was he told us that Benoit was dead.

That changed EVERYTHING. And was the point where Vince changed the direction and focus of the WWE and everything it did (to become squeaky clean and family friendly, and marketed toward children). The U.S. Government put the WWE under a microscope and every media on the planet was digging through WWE trash cans looking for something, ANYTHING, bad to report.

The Benoit thing rippled throughout the entire wrestling business.
