I've just read that he won the WCW world title in 2000 and lost it the very next day. How come WWE never mentioned that?

Yea, true, but when he won the World title at WM 20, everyone went acted like it was his first time. Its not like the WCW title is a TNA title or something, it has/had equal prestige to the WWE titles.

Yes, I did know that, he walked out of WCW right after winning the WCW title, WWE rarely mentions title reigns from other organizations, did you know, Ron Simmons was a former WCW Champion as well, and as far as I know, the first African American World Champion, WWE doesn't mention that either, but WWE doesn't like to talk about Chris because of the whole thing where he snapped and killed everyone who was important to him, so there are two reasons why WWE has never mentioned it!

When he beat Sid in a tournament for the vacant WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Sid tapped to the Crippler Crossface, but his foot was under the bottom rope, which is the same as touching the rope, so it should have been a rope break.

Benoit, who was not happy in WCW at the time was in discussions to leave WCW for the WWF, so Sid was instructed to place his foot under the rope in case Benoit was to quit.

Benoit didn't want to be in WCW so he quit regardless of being the champion, in fact he quit the next night. So WCW announced that Sid had his foot under the ropes, so they overturned the decision.

So even though Benoit did win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, he was stripped of the title so he did not officially win the belt, which is why he isn't in the official title history, and that is why he is only a one time champion.

what happened was that his last WCW event was a PPV match with Sid... the match ended with Benoit Pinning Sid by the ropes

WCW tried to buy his loyalty with the win, but he left anyway... then the next day, WCW aired footage of Sid's leg under the ropes, negating Benoit's win...

so even by WCW's Booking Benoit was never technically the champion... his 'win' arguably falls under the 'Dusty Finish'

and THAT is why Benoit's win at Mania 20 was so epic

because WCW booked the match as they did, with the cop-out of Sid's Leg being out of bounds. the win never happened

I actually didn't know that, but I guess the reason they never brought it up was because they thought they were the superior brand. In fact they thought that the superstar hadn't made it until he won their World Championship, other examples of this include : Booker T, Rey Mysterio (they never even brought up he was a WCW superstar) and even Sting (they haven't mentioned him and anyone who hasn't watched TNA would be saying who's that) Obviously it has the same prestige as any World Championship would but WWE wouldn't acknowledge it just as they were a rival company.
