his mic skillz are decent, he's ok ring wise. but people like overating him saying he;s really good at it. also, AJ is a spot monkey.
peolpe say he can do a bunch of off the top ropes nobody in wwe can do. WRONG. there are several people in wwe that can do what aj does but wwe has rules and doesn't allow all kinds of off the rope moves and several others. not too mention he botches but people seem to ignore it @Randon username-when did i say being in wwe makes you good? |

Kind of hard not to be a spot monkey when TNA books 2-3 minute matches to make more room for in ring and back stage promos.
Watch his longer matches (generally PPV or outside of TNA) and you will see that he is a good wrestler. |

In an actual wrestling match which would use pro catch-as-catch-can rules but actually require wrestling by those rules (like no fists!) AJ would be among the best ones.
He can actually apply wrestling holds, boring as most fans seem to feel they are. |

AJ Styles is a mesh of different things that every wrestler should have: mic skills, athleticism, brawling, high flying, the look, intensity, and swagger of a champion. He's the man in TNA and would outshine any comparable wrestler (John Morrison, Evan Bourne, etc.)
He's like Chris Jericho before Jericho had to refine his moveset to go with his aging body. Everyone botches by the way from time to time, he's no Shelton Benjamin though if that's what you're implying. And you calling AJ a spot monkey is BS because any successful wrestler who isn't Triple H or bigger has to use a certain moveset to combat the larger opponents. Christopher Daniels is a spot monkey because he doesn't have the moveset to keep his crowd entertained long enough. AJ does. |

People are fans of AJ because of his mic skills. As soon as TNA gets out of there We need old people to get fans phase I'm certain that he will be one of the talents that get the respect back to TNA.
Also if you think about it. Hulk Hogan is overrated. John Cena is overrated. And if you ask me Raven was even over rated. They all had VERY limited moves. And there respected companies had to find a really good GIMMICK to get them over with the crowd. But AJ Styles doesn't need a gimick to get over with his fans he just does what he does best and ppl respect him. |
