Default 64 bit or 32 bit - Buying A New Computer Tomorrow

I'm getting a new custom rig from Vigor Gaming. It's time to treat myself after running this old AMD 2500 for almost five years.

Should I go for the 32 bit or 64 bit Vista Home Premium?

Help me out, I'll be ordering by tomorrow.

Neither. Get XP Pro. May as well get the 64 bit version of it if you're getting a 64 bit processor. If funds are really tight go ahead and get XP Home. I'm pretty sure it comes in a 64 bit version too.

I found this article which explains the differences between the two, and tells who really needs 64 bit. From what it says, you wouldn't really benefit from it.

If that's the case, depending on how much the difference is between the two, you may as well get the 32 bit.

Hope that helps.

The thing is, most articles I've found on the incompatibility issues with 64 bit Vista were written two years ago like the one above. I know that most hardware now comes with both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers. My major concern is whether 32 bit software will run slower on a 64 bit os.

Thanks tho, guys.
