This game is due to release in about a month...November 20th if I'm not mistaken.
It should be an epic game. It's a Sci-Fi RPG, that blends third person shooter to its combat. It's from developer BioWare, who made Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire (I've never played them, but hear nothing but great things about them). It's supposed to have around 30-40+ hours of gameplay for just the core storyline experience. Traveling to other planets and exploring adds numerous hours to that total. Mass Effect Wiki Here's a link to a ton of screenshots. Everything in the game looks so crisp and clean. The human characters look so lifelike, right down to the eyes and facial hair. The aliens actually looks like they could be real ![]() I can't wait until this game releases. It's gonna be a classic ![]() |

It's an interesting mix of fps and rpg. It's works pretty well, but unfortunately, the combat feels really lackluster compared to GOW or COD. Maybe I'm not used to it enough yet. I miss the traditional change of pace between combat and exploration. I wish there was more of a signal that I'm about to enter a combat situation or something to that affect. Otherwise, I dig it. I'm not really exploring the brain powers or tech stuff, I'm just trying to get a grip on shooting. But I'm not that far into the game to really say much more. The graphics look pretty good. I finally got my fancy pants hdtv and it looks pretty sharp. I don't think the game runs at a full 1080p though. It's bullshit scaled up. The shadows are funky though. I don't like that. The alien and character design is badass. I love it. I like the dialogue action. It's good and makes sense. I prefer it to just picking lines. I get to be surprised by what he says next. I should have created a new character. I think before I get too deep I'll just start over with somebody new. Maybe it's not that important to me though. I like the story and I'm excited to get to the space stuff and explore more of the good/bad decisions coming up. I did get to shoot that guy point blank in the head, which I found enjoyable. I'm sure I'll get more comfortable with the gunning and special powers as I get farther into the game. I think this game is going to suck up a lot of my time, but I need to play through it before more stuff comes out and I'd like to hit up bioshock sometime soon too. Cool game though.

One thing I've seen as a complaint is the lack of tutorial for it, which I can understand.
As you keep unlocking level points, make sure that you're using them to level up and unlock the different capabilities and such. Also make sure you're constantly upgrading your weapons to the best selection, with the best upgrades. It makes it a ton more enjoyable. I'm on my second playthrough now, but using the same character from the first playthrough. I got to keep the level and all my weapons and upgrades ![]() The first playthrough took around 39 hours, but that was doing ALL of the sidequests, which definitely made up a big portion of the game. This playthrough, I've done mostly the storyline part, with a few side missions here and there, which can get repetitive, but that's why they're completely optional. Overall, I think the game is great. I love the story. The graphics are great, aside of the funky shadows you pointed out. The combat, while definitely not as refined as GoW, Halo 3 or CoD4, is very strong and a lot of fun. With the different classes to choose from, that will add a ton of replayability to the game. I really want to play as a Biotic or whatever, so I can throw a motherfucker in the air ![]() |

I personally can't wait for the new side mission download coming soon. One of my coworkers here said his biggest complaint is the lack of replayability as opposed to KOTOR.
