Default Final fantasy on PC.
Apart from the obvious final fantasy 11 that was made for pc has anybody played any of the other older ones on pc before and if you did was it any good.

I have the option to grab FFVIII for pc but would like to know if its worth it before grabbing it

I see why not, Final Fantasy games are rarely if ever a let down, but then i could be being biased as i'm like Final Fantasy obsessed.

I downloaded FFVII but then it always got onto the title screen and my computer just froze...every single time.

I had a chance to get ffvii but my membership run out and i was prohibited from dloading it. This time its ffviii ...not as good as vii but probably still worth a try on pc....if only for the opening sequence which i still rate highly

Putting aside my absolute hatred for the steaming pile of shit that is Final Fantasy VIII...I'd say it may be worth it. One big thing about VII on the PC which really annoyed the fuck out of me was that instead of porting the studio soundtrack for the game over they used a raw midi composition which just didn't sound near as good. I'm not sure if the VIII port suffers from this also...but if its does its definitely not worth it IMO.

Theres 5 discs for this game and 4 discs are the playable ones and one disc is an install disc. First burn each disc using your favorite burner(my fav. is Alcohol 120%) Then insert the install disc and install the game. Once it’s installed it will ask you to insert disc one just like the playstation version, and once you get farther in the game you’ll insert disc 2 and so on. I’ve included the official soundtrack as well as the music is like Epic. “Fithos……Lusec…..Wecos….Vinosec” Oh theres a readme.txt file inside that is just junk, it doesn’t have anything to do with the game so just delete it if you want.
hopefully that means the music will be sweet

10 garbage? As in Final Fantasy X?! No, no, no, you were joking, right? Thats some funny shit, Final Fantasy X was ownage, one of the best RPGs on the PS2 EVER. X-2 ok, that wasn't up to Sqaure-Enix's standard though was it ok, but not great like some others they've made.

i didn't like FFX for various reasons. too short, the sphere system sucked, and i didn't really care for the story.

Sphere system was way better than the steal the magic system of 8.

Also needing to use the rumble controller to pull off extra gunblade damage was retarded too,
