GameCube Gets an Implant
New AI technology comes with GCN SDK.

June 02, 2003 - Montreal, Canada-based BioGraphic Technologies today announced that it has signed a deal with Nintendo to offer its AI.implant to the GameCube Tools and Middleware Program.
The AI.implant software development kit enables developers to rapidly incorporate cutting-edge artificial intelligence routines into their GameCube titles. According to BioGraphic Technologies, AI.implant can be utilized to do everything from "race cars looping around a track to a pack of mutant zombies using path finding to hunt down a player in a complex 3D level."

The AI.implant SDK for GameCube is available now. Both Microsoft and Sony adopted the AI.implant SDK into their tools programs last May.

"We are delighted to bring AI.implant to the Nintendo GameCube" said Dr. Paul Kruszewski, president and founder of BioGraphic Technologies. "With AI.implant, game developers can now quickly author their AI content in their preferred level editor (e.g., Maya and 3ds-max) and export directly to their Nintendo GameCube game linked to our AI.implant SDK."

I was interested when I saw the word "Gamecube" in the title but I am just plain baffled as to what any of this means...
