Default Went to a concert this weekend.

We went and saw Def Leppard, Styx and Foreigner this weekend. The concert was pretty badass, and people were tailgating since that morning. The show didn't start till 7PM.

Some cover band played outside the amphitheatre most of the day, then at 6 everyone got to go inside...the place was full, and it was outside...there was a lightning storm going on, but no thunder, so when the sun set and it became night time, the background behind the stage looked pretty badass.

I have seen all three of these bands before, but this might have been the best yet.

Foreigner was first, and they played all their uptempo rock hits...they left out the ballads like "Waiting for a girl like you" and "I wanna know what love is"...they played everything else, including an extended version of Jukebox Hero, where halfway through the song, they switch and covered, "Whole Lotta Love" before going back to Hero.

After a brief intermission, Styx played, and they played the usual (of course no Lady, or Mr. Roboto, since Deyoung isn't with them anymore)....I was surprised by Styx, as I didn't really enjoy them the last time I saw them...they looked to end with Renegade, but ending with a song that said "they had to go"...that was unexpected. A little humor there.

Finally Def leppard played, and they touched on everything...including one of my favorite performances, their cover of "Rock On" That had a 5 minute solo guitar intro....One of the guitar players from White Snake is with the band this year, and it was his birthday, so they sang happy birthday and pop some champagne about halfway through the set...they then did all the slower stuff during that point, including an acoustic set of "Two Steps Behind" followed by a half acoustic/half rock version of Bringing on the Heartache.

They ended by going into Pour Some Sugar on Me, then encored with Rock of Ages..

overall it was a great time...we met some really stupid fuckers that had the largest rebel flag blanket I had ever seen. Of course you can't expect much from some guy named Rodney Jenkins and his Bob Segar T-shirt...He told me that him and his family were there to party! And that they party like Hell...hell yeah...by the time Def Leppard came on a little after 9pm, Rodney was passed out on the blanket..

meanwhile chicks were taking their shirts off, and there were a bunch of fucking mullets...one dude had the largets mullet I had ever seen...also I saw some chick reach into her shorts, and pull out a fucking pint of Jack Daniels..

Weed was a plenty as was the beer, and it didn't rain until after the show ending..great timing..

Sounds cool. I was thinking about going to this concert when it was in Toronto. But like I said many times before, Def Leppard really disappointed me when I saw them. They were the only main act I have seen that at the end of the show I had a bad taste in my mouth...
