A "really very odd incident" resulted in a fire that caused $60,000 in damage and injured a St. Joseph man

ST. JOSEPH A "really very odd incident" resulted in a fire that caused $60,000 in damage and injured a St. Joseph man.
According to Russell Chism, assistant chief of the St. Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District, firefighters were called to 2260 Wesley Court at 10 a.m. Friday. They found a house with "smoke throughout the residence," Chism said.

He said the occupant of the home had built a fire in the fireplace, then left to run an errand to the post office, taking his dog with him. When the resident pulled back into his driveway, which had ice on it, the dog jumped onto his lap, causing him to lose control of his car. As the car entered the garage, it hit a hot tub, knocking it into the fireplace in the room on the other side of the wall. That threw logs and embers out of the fireplace and into the room, igniting furniture and other items, Chism said.

Firefighters from the Ogden-Royal and Homer fire protection districts helped fight the fire, which Chism said was extinguished within 15 minutes.
But the occupant "stepped out of his vehicle and slipped on the ice and struck his head," Chism said.

The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Chism, who said the man's injuries were minor, did not identify the man because he wasn't sure the man's family had been notified.

That's one of those things that couldn't be duplicated in a million years no matter how hard someone tried. That's just fuckin weird.

The man set a trap for himself. He has one of those self-fullfilling doomsday problems. See, he "left" the fire unattended, which should never be done. He let his dog in the car without securing it. Another He left a tub in the garage where it was not safely put away. He slipped on ice, INSIDE his garage, which means he was either not taking care of his pipes or was too damn lazy to make sure he left his premises in decent working order. On top of that, he was rescued by a man named Chism, which is just a cover up for his real name, Jizm, which proves the man to cause all this trouble was a real jerk off.
